CompTIA Project+ training

Description

The CompTIA Project+ course is designed for IT professionals who manage small projects. Flexible and comprehensive, it is not limited to a single project management methodology or model, but covers the fundamental concepts of IT project management.
During this course, you will learn the basics of project management, including constraints, communication and change management. You will also familiarise yourself with the tools and documentation needed to successfully complete a project, right through to its final phase, closure.
This intensive five-day programme not only prepares you to become an effective manager of simple projects, but also enables you to sit the CompTIA PK0-005 exam, which is included in our package. This exam is a prerequisite for CompTIA Project+ certification (for more information, see the certification tab).

Day 1: Introduction to Project Management

  • Project management fundamentals: Understanding the stages in the project life cycle and the key organisational elements.
  • Agile methodology: Introduction to Agile project management.

Day 2: Project initiation

  • Choosing the project management model: Drawing up specifications and establishing a project charter.
  • Designation of stakeholders: Identification and commitment of the players involved in the project.

Day 3: Project planning

  • Identification of the elements of the project management plan (PMP): Identification of stakeholder needs.
  • Project scope definition: Planning, recording, creation, validation and control.

Day 4: Preparation and creation of the Project Schedule

  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Creation of a roadmap and correlation between the various tasks.
  • Identify resources and estimate the time required for the project.

Day 5: Project execution and closure

  • Project execution management: Implementation of a quality assurance plan (QAP) and management of the project team.
  • Closing the project: Final delivery, closing purchases and writing the final report.

This course is aimed at the following audiences:

  • all professionals working in the IT industry within or outside their company
  • all professionals responsible for coordinating or managing small or medium-scale projects.

To follow this CompTIA training course, you need the following prerequisites:

  • be able to read and understand English, Japanese or Thai for the PK0-005 exam;
  • 6 to 12 months' project management experience in an IT environment (recommended).

At the end of the CompTIA Project+ training course, you will develop the following skills:

  • Comparing project management tools: You will be able to analyse various tools and documentation associated with projects and partner relations.
  • Resource and stakeholder management: You will develop the skills to manage human resources and project stakeholders effectively.
  • Successful management of small and medium-sized projects: You will learn how to successfully manage less complex projects.
  • Preparing for the CompTIA PK0-005 Project+ exam: Finally, you will be ready to sit the exam to obtain your certification.
