  • Module 9: Web filtering
  • Web filtering techniques, configuring policies to control Internet access.

Day 3: Advanced protocols and administration

  • Module 10: Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
  • Understanding how IPS works, configuring policies to prevent intrusions.
  • Module 8: Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol
  • Key OSPF concepts, configuration and optimization of dynamic routing.
  • Module 11: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Introduction to BGP, configuration for inter-domain management.
  • Module 12: Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC)
  • Configuring IPSEC to secure network communications.
  • Module 13: Auto-Discovery VPN (ADVPN)
  • Implementation of ADVPN to simplify VPN connection management.

This course is aimed at IT professionals involved in network security and FortiGates administration in the enterprise.

To take part in this training course, you need to have mastered FortiGate I and II, FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager.

The aim of this training course is to teach you the complete architecture and operation of FortiGate III and the enterprise firewall. You'll learn how to use FortiGate's centralized administration to effectively manage Fortinet's various programs and implement optimal security for your corporate networks. This course focuses on the implementation, diagnosis and central management of FortiGates services. It combines both theoretical modules and practical exercises to test your skills in real-life IT risk situations. This course is part of the NSE 7 certification curriculum.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Operate all Fortinet Security Fabric components: FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiGates.
  • Operate central administration of network security analysis and processing.
  • Optimize the use of FortiGates resources.
  • Use FortiGate tools to troubleshoot and monitor user traffic.
  • Use high CPU usage, firewall rules, session helpers, IPsec,
  • FortiGuard, content inspection, routing and high availability to investigate and resolve problems.
  • Deploy IPsec tunnels simultaneously at multiple sites using FortiManager's VPN console.
  • Enable on-demand tunnels between different sites with ADVPN.
  • Route corporate traffic using Open Shortest Path First and Border Gateway Protocol.
