The PRINCE2 Agile Foundation + Practitioner programme is a training and certification programme designed for project management professionals who want to develop recognised expertise in agile project management. This course will enable you to become a PRINCE2 practitioner capable of combining structure, governance and control with agile methods, techniques and approaches.
Our comprehensive PRINCE2 course will provide you with best practice in managing complex projects by integrating the rigour of PRINCE2 with the flexibility of agile methods. You'll learn how to adapt PRINCE2's principles, processes and tools to meet the specific needs of your projects, while taking advantage of the collaboration and agility offered by Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
At the end of this five-day programme, you will have the opportunity to take mock exams to prepare for the two official PRINCE2 Agile exams included in our offer. Passing these exams will enable you to obtain the PRINCE2® Agile Foundation and PRINCE2® Agile Practitioner certifications (for more information, please consult the certification tab).
Day 1: Introduction to PRINCE2 and Agile fundamentals
- Understanding the Business As Usual (BAU) approach and projects.
- Exploration of PRINCE2's 7 principles, 6 themes and 7 processes.
- Introduction to product management and default roles in PRINCE2.
- Discover the different agile approaches, such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Presentation of the PRINCE2 Agile model, which combines the best practices of both methodologies.
- Discussion of the fundamental principles of PRINCE2 Agile, such as flexibility, collaboration and added value.
Day 2: Understanding Agile Methods
- Definition of agile and its history.
- Origins of the agile manifesto in IT.
- Analysis of the predominant agile methodologies and the essential elements of business agility.
- Measuring agility using the agilometer.
- Identification of the conditions required to adopt an agile approach.
- Importance of agile communication, agile workshops and agile releases.
Day 3: Adapting PRINCE2 to an Agile Context
- Reasons for integrating PRINCE2 with agile.
- Roles and responsibilities within a PRINCE2 Agile team.
- Identifying the agile elements integrated into PRINCE2.
- Exploration of the 8 fundamental elements and correction concepts.
- Flexible working and the hexagonal approach to agile project management.
- Selecting the appropriate agile practices according to the project context.
- Implementing a hybrid approach.
Day 4: Mastering PRINCE2 Themes in an Agile Context
- Organisation: Adapting PRINCE2 roles to an agile structure with self-organising teams. Allocating responsibilities between those involved in an agile project and promoting close collaboration with stakeholders.
- Quality: Implementing quality assurance for a final product in an agile environment where requirements evolve, as well as the necessary quality control mechanisms.
- Change: Establishing effective and rapid change management, including the management of different versions of the product.
- Risks: Identifying and assessing the risks in an agile project, and drawing up action plans to mitigate them.
- Configurations: Managing different versions of a product and changes to requirements.
Day 5: Mastering PRINCE2 Processes in an Agile Context
- Getting started: Developing a flexible business case adapted to changing requirements. Definition of a project mandate that allows for continuous adaptation.
- Initiation: Creation of a detailed, flexible agile project plan and obtaining start-up authorisation from stakeholders
- Management: Steering the agile project using appropriate key performance indicators. Effective management of communication with stakeholders.
- Control: Adaptation of phase reviews to PRINCE2 and management of incremental deliverables.
- Closing: Evaluating the results of closing an agile project and capitalising on the experience gained.
