Today, many companies make business decisions based on data, making data analysts essential. These professionals must not only master the methods of analysis and interpretation, but also be able to communicate relevant information derived from this data.
By taking this course, you will develop valuable skills for analysing and interpreting data effectively. Aimed at beginners in the field of data analysis, this course will introduce you to simple methods while teaching you when and how to apply more advanced techniques. You will learn how to understand business needs and present relevant reports using appropriate visualisation tools. You will also learn about the principles of data governance, including quality and control.
At the end of this five-day course, you will be prepared to sit the CompTIA DA0-001 exam, which is included in our offering. This exam is a prerequisite for CompTIA Data+ certification (for more information, see the certification tab).

Day 1: Basic concepts and the Common Data Environment

  • Identifying the fundamental concepts of data models.
  • Understanding the different data schemas and data types, and their specific features.
  • Comparison of data structures, formats and mark-up languages.

Day 2: Data Extraction

  • Explanation of data integration and extraction techniques.
  • Identification of common reasons for filtering and profiling data.

Day 3: Data analysis

  • Techniques for manipulating and optimising data.
  • Application of descriptive statistical analysis methods.
  • Explanation of the most common analysis methods and their applications.

Day 4: Data visualisation and governance

  • Concepts of data visualisation and appropriate use according to context.
  • Formulation of business requirements into reports, design of report elements and dashboards.
  • Importance of data governance and application of quality control.

Day 5: Quality Control and Data Management

  • Application of best practices to ensure data quality.
  • Explanation of data management concepts, including organisational requirements.

This course is aimed at the following audiences

  • professionals responsible for developing and promoting data-driven business decisions ;
  • all IT professionals who wish to obtain CompTIA Data+ certification.

To follow this CompTIA training course, you need the following prerequisites:

  • the ability to read and understand English, Japanese or Thai for the DA0-001 exam;
  • 18 to 24 months' professional experience as a data analyst or business analyst. A good knowledge of databases and analysis tools, a basic understanding of statistics and experience of data visualisation (recommended).

On completion of the CompTIA Data+ course, you will develop the following skills:

  • Describe data acquisition methods and the reasons why filtering and profiling may be necessary.
