Software testing is a crucial stage in the deployment of any IT programme. It is essential to guarantee the quality, security and smooth operation of the software. This key phase of a project should never be underestimated by testers specialising in bug detection.
During this course, you will develop the skills needed to become an ISTQB-certified Agile tester. You will discover the fundamental principles of Agile testing, master various testing techniques and learn how to plan, manage and control tests effectively.
The programme will familiarise you with concepts such as unit testing, integration testing, test management tools and software validation, among others. What's more, the courses are aimed at anyone wishing to start a career in software testing, as well as professionals wishing to obtain their first certification in this sector.
At the end of this three-day course, you will also be prepared to sit the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level v4.0 certification exam, paving the way to professional success (for more information, see the certification tab).

Day 1: Introduction and Fundamentals of Software Testing

  • Understanding the basics of software testing :

Day 2: Testing in the Development Life Cycle

  • Testing in the lifecycle:
  • The role of testing in the software lifecycle.
  • Levels and types of tests to be carried out.
  • Maintenance tests and their importance.
  • Performing static tests:
  • Introduction to static testing.
  • Feedback and review processes.
  • Test Analysis and Design:
  • Essential testing techniques.
  • Black-box testing: principles and applications.
  • White-box testing: methodology and use.
  • Experience-based techniques and collaborative approaches.

Day 3: Test Management and Certification

  • Test Activity Management:
  • Effective test planning.
  • Managing the risks associated with testing.
  • Monitoring, control and closure of test activities.
  • Configuration and defect management.
  • Use of Test Tools:
    Tools to support test processes.
  • Advantages and disadvantages of test automation.
  • Preparing for the Certification Exam :
    Review of the main topics covered during the course.
  • Mock exam with detailed correction.
  • Passing the official ISTQB Foundation certification exam (1 hour, including a 40-question MCQ, with a minimum score of 65%).

There are no formal prerequisites for this course, but a basic knowledge of the software life cycle is recommended.

On completion of the ISTQB v4.0 Foundation course, you will be able to achieve the following objectives:
